This month I decided to have a good clear out of any products I have had past the recommended amount of months (shown on most products by a number followed by 'M' in a little tub symbol near the small print), as well as any products that I haven't used in the last 3 months. The result of this; a shopping trip to replace all the products that didn't survive the eviction process!

When blow-drying or straightening my hair I always use a protection spray, to not use one makes me feel really guilty. I chose the got2b guardian angel heat protection spray by Schwarzkopf (mentioned in my previous post) for two not-so logical reasons, firstly because it's new and secondly, the bottle is really nice! This spray smells absolutely divine, if anyone has coloured their hair with Scwarzkopf products, it is a much more subtle scent which is left after colouring, I want to say it smells like marzipan but I don't think it does (if that helps?!). That said, the smell doesn't actually stay on your hair after it is dry, unfortunately. I have also noticed my hair is super shiny after using this product and I believe the price was really good too (around £2.50).VILLAIN
Of course I also needed hairspray and chose Garnier's Fructis Style Bamboo Flexihold, Shine and Hold in Extra Strong - what a mistake! I have used Fructis products in the past and their shampoo and conditioner made my hair super greasy but being the reasonable, forgiving girl I am, I decided to give this hairspray the benefit of the doubt. However, after spending around 40 minutes curling my hair I sprayed on a layer of this hairspray only for it to stay wet on my hair for what must have been 10 minutes or more, meaning it weighted down my curls leaving my hair a straggly, gunky mess. I found that this hairspray never really dried but just stayed sticky in my hair, not nice!

So with my head down I made another trip to the shops to get my old favourite. Now, I have always been advised by my hairdressers not to use Tresemme products as they are a watered down version of the Salon products they claim to be, but I must admit I have not found a hairspray yet that can beat Treseeme's Salon Finish extra hold! In the future I will not be tempted by other shiny, colourful cans but I will stay true to Tresmme (for a while atleast).

Another brand I have been warned against by hairdressers is Pantene. It coats your hair with a layer of plastic (apparently), but whilst being rushed by the BF I had to make a quick decision Pantenes aqua light just so happened to be nearest and I am now glad that it was. This shampoo and conditioner is the best of the Pantene range, in my opinion, it really does make your hair feel light and soft and could compete with the more expensive brands I usually invest in, a definite contender for future purchases!

I would like to try the Aussie range again as although I did not like it the first time around (many years ago) I have been hearing great things, would you recommend it?
What are your top tips for choosing new products?
